Victorian, circa 1900 Minton Majolica figure of a partridge standing over a red beetle, on a rocky base with foliage decoration. Decorated all round. Gray underside with molded maker''s mark, ''MINTONS ENGLAND''. Good. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to the underside; a couple of areas of thin glaze application to the head and one to wing on the reverse; piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle; and a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the head. Restored chip to tip of beak. 8.75ins high
