Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica match holder in the form of a gnome sat asleep in a barrel, resting a smaller barrel on his right knee. In his left hand he is holding a tilted cup, with the contents spilling out. Turquoise interior to the small barrel. Vent hole underneath the large barrel. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Small flake to reverse of cape. Kiln effects: uneven glaze application to trousers; two tiny glaze pops and a glaze miss to reverse of cape. Repair to the small barrel. 3.75ins high
