Victorian, circa 1860 Parr Factory Staffordshire figure with a Political theme which features the Duke of Wellington, stood on an oblong base. The piece is titled, ''Wellington'' to the front of the base. White version. Dull gilt titles and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse. Makers marks painted to the underside. Book reference,''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding, page 147, figure 372. Good. Slight rubbing to gilt. Kiln effects: notable crazing; faint shrinkage line along the mold join over right shoulder and by left leg; firing crack to the base just below his foot. Retouching to his cravat, glove and shoes 16.5ins high, 6.3ins wide, 4.3ins depth
