Victorian, circa 1890 Large pair Staffordshire Jackfield seated spaniels with curly tails. Bright gilt collar, locket, chain and markings. Black glaze over red earthenware bodies, visible on underside edge. Two vent holes to reverse. Vent hole and stilt marks to underside. Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt. Right facing: Slight wear to dog''s back and to base at reverse. Kiln effects: glaze pops to the front legs and to reverse. Left facing: Kiln effects: glaze pops between front paws; small piece of kiln detritus to tail at reverse. 13.75ins high
