Figural jug or pitcher - cow dressed in frilly dress and bow. Made by Shafer and Vater,(Volkstedt Rudolstad, Thuringa, Germany) and bearing their impressed backstamp of a crown above an 'R' in a star. Measures 13.5 cm high and about 13 cm wide handle to spout (5.1/4 inches by 5 inches). The handle is the curled cow's tail. Her mouth is the spout. Excellent condition. Pretty pastel colours. Early 20th century.
