A monumental pair of Italian porcelain figures. Marked on the bottom Made in Italy and marked on the bases D. Polouioto. The man stands 31 1/2" and the woman is a little less with no hat on. Surprisingly excellent condition given there size, no chips, cracks or repairs. The two have the appearance of returning from market with a basket of fruit and sacks over there shoulders. Proper dress on each for village life. Superb detailing. Each weighs about 12 lbs.
