Large Victorian Staffordshire flatback figurine of a fine gentleman with his adoring dog. He sports a plumed hat, various sashes, green tassel ribbons below his jacket and swash-buckling boot. There is a shell on the base of the item - probably this is Sir Walter Raleigh. His dog gazes up at him, and stands against a large spill vase or vase tree stump, which has mosses and flowers tucked into the trunk. Whole measures 43 cm or 17 inches high. 20 cm wide and 11.5 cm deep. Condition is very good, minor small chip to base corner and small tight hairline from base to dog. Very minor small amount of clean crazing, mainly to rear.
