Antique Meissen porcelain Cubist figurine of a masked Harlequin, from the Commedia Dell''Arte characters. Made in Germany, early 20th century. Measures 3 1/2 inches high. Stands on a rectangular base with a gold border and little applied scroll. Turned up purple shoes match the diamonds and stripes of the long tunic with ruffled neck. One huge hand rests on a bowtie at the belly. Flat purple hat. A golden mask with openings for eyes and mouth and a triangular nose covers an equally cubistic face, partially hidden behind it. Meissen blue underglaze crossed swords and impress 60672 under the base. Good condition except for a tiny chip on the back of the hat (easilly restored).
