Victorian, circa 1870 Minton Majolica sweetmeat dish which features a shell shaped dish, with a classical female bust forming the handle, a snail on the rim and a lizard crawling up from underneath. Colouration: pink, white, green, are predominant. Bears a pattern number, ''903''. Book reference not found. Good. No restoration. Slight wear to interior. Slight wear to her head. Kiln effects: over glazed shrinkage line to the neck; thin glaze application, showing the underlying body in places 6.3ins high, 6.3ins wide, 5.5ins depth
