Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica sardine box and cover decorated with seaweed on yellow ground. Cover with fish lying on seaweed forms the handle. Brown rope twist rim. Pink interior with three stilt marks and a painted mark to underside of cover. Gray glaze to underside of box with three stilt marks inside the foot. Generally good. Dish: No restoration. Two small flakes and some wear to flange. Kiln effects: glaze misses to the rims; crazing to interior and yellow exterior ground. Cover: Hairline to tail of fish handle. Kiln effect: crazing to both sides. Restoration to corner. Restored flake to fin of fish handle. 7ins wide, 4.25ins high
