Circa 1880 Choisy le Roi Majolica lobster dish and cover. Molded as an oval shell, with seaweed decoration. The lobster, with an insect by its antennae, forms the handle. Cream interior and underside. Vent hole to the underside of cover. Impressed ''H.B & C15 CHOISY'' and ''20'', and painted maker''s mark to the underside. Generally good. Dish: Repaired crack across base and up one side. Cover: Tight hairline to rim. Repaired crack under the lobster''s face and left claw. Associated retouched chip to inside of left claw. 9.5ins by 4.5ins, 5ins high
