Circa 1891. Superb Royal Worcester covered cheese dish. This large, round cheese keeper is another example of some of the best work of a fine 19th century English maker. Beautiful pink blooms on a fluttering vine of BLUE leaves, all on a fine cream colored back round, out-lined in gold. The bottom of the cover and the edge of the bottom bowl are also gilded as is the double knot finial. Exceptional in both quality and condition. Fully marked top and bottom for Royal Worcester, and date marked for 1891. Very fine original condition with almost no signs of wear or use. A rare find, fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. 8 3/4" diameter, 5" tall.
