Unusual covered cheese or butter dish made in the mid 19th century by the fine English porcelain manufacturer Royal Worcester for a high end Philadelphia retailer, J.E. Caldwell. The dish is a fine rich pink with an all over leaf and flower decoration in gold. The handle is also gilded. Good original condition, with wear to the gilding on the handle and a tight hairline to the base of the under-plate that does not affect its use. 4" tall x 7 1/2" diameter. Price 125.
