A Derby Botanical Plate Painted With Scarlet Glycine, Painted by John Brewer, Circa 1795-1810 The plate is finely painted with a flowering branch of Scarlet Glycine within a gilt border of stylized Lily-of-the-Valley, minor rubbing to rim. Dimensions: 8 5/8 in (21.8 cm) Marks: Inscribed in blue enamel is ''Glycine coccinea, Scarlet Glycine.'' Marked with a crown, crossed batons, dots, ''D'' and the numeral ''115.''
