Circa 1770 Chinese Export Very Large Mandarin Palette Mug/Tankard measuring 5 1/2" in height and 4 7/8" in diameter at the top opening. It has a nice dragon shaped handle which is blue. The tankard is decorated in the rose mandarin colourway with a fine painted center panel with five people with castle, mountains and water in the background. They are apparently standing on a veranda. Nice painted blue colors serving as a border for this scene. The rest of the mug has a beautiful peach diapering and flanked by two square panels and two other panels in the shape and form of what appears to be a armour. The Mug is in Perfect Condition and of the Finest Quality Mug that we have had. No Damage at all and No Restoration. Over the years I have had 100's of these chinese mugs and this one rates in the top five of the best ones that we have owned.
