Circa 1775 Chinese Export Mandarin Palette Cup and Saucer made for the european, probably french market. The saucer measures 4 7/8" in diameter and is about 1" in depth. The demi cup is 2 3/4" in height and the opening is 2 1/2" in diameter. Nicely painted mandarin scenes on a veranda showing water and mountains in the background. The cup is in good condition with no chips or hairlines, etc. The saucer has three minor hairlines around the rim. This wonderful pattern also has a famille rose background on both the cup and the saucer. 18TH. Century cups and saucers are hard to find especially in this good condition.
