Unusual Sèvres hard paste coffee can, decorated by Joyau with bands of simulated ermine and olive, the base with a border of scrolling foliage, the rim with scrolls and dots.

References: Provenance: The Antique Porcelain Company, NY a similar can & saucer was sold at Phillips, Bond Street, 4th March lot 94 C. 1770-80. The painter Joyeau left the factory in 1776.
