Sairey Gamp is a character from Charles Dickens' "Martin Chuzzlewit". She is depicted here in the small size Royal Doulton character jug or Toby.Designed by Leslie Harradine and Harry Fenton, Sairey was produced from 1935 to 1986. This particular jug is in excellent condition and measures approximately 3 1/4" in height. It is backstamped as shown and bears the Doulton Number D5451. According to my book, the D5451 designates the larger jug, so perhaps this one is mismarked?
