A very fine Worcester trio comprising saucer, tea and coffee cup all hand decorated with panels of Chinese style flowers on a wet blue ground. The panels enriched with foliate sprays and gilt border. Leading experts state that it is not common to find them associated with blue ground decoration. A coffee cup and saucer the same as offered here sold at Bonhams on the 16th March 2004 for £896. The saucer and coffee cup marked with the Worcester crescent. Tea cup marked with the script W.
The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration. The saucer has a small patch of kiln dirt to the reverse, the gilt and enamels are very good with virtually no wear. The coffee cup has a small firing fault where the handles upper terminal joins the body, the enamels and gilt are excellent. The tea cup in beautiful condition there is a small semi circular patch of glaze where it touched another item in the kiln and just light wear to the gilt on the rim. Saucer measures 13.2cms diameter. Coffee cup measures 6.4cms high. Tea cup measures 5.2cms high.
