Victorian, circa 1870 George Jones Majolica strawberry server with sugar bowl, creamer and serving spoon. Server in the form of a dish decorated with green leaves and strawberry blossom on turquoise ground. Bird perched on the rim between two hollow nests which form wells for creamer and sugar bowl. Mottled underside with three stilt marks, painted pattern number ''2529'' in reserve, and impressed pattern registration diamond for 8th March 1870 all inside the foot. Sugar bowl and creamer both with mottled exteriors, ochre rims, turquoise interiors, and three stilt marks to underside. Spoon modeled as overlapping strawberry leaves to bowl, and leaf stems tied with a blue ribbon to handle. Good. Server: Two small flakes to inner rim of one well (not visible when sugar bowl is in place). Kiln effects: small firing pit inside one well. Restored chip to bird''s beak. Repair where bird joins dish. Sugar: No restoration. Kiln effect: small firing pit to interior. Creamer: Kiln effect: a few tiny glaze pops to interior. Retouched flake to rim.
