An extremely fine early Worcester sparrow beak milk jug decorated with the Mansfield pattern. The hand painted underglazed blue pattern is very clear and bright. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and only a couple of minor original firing blemishes around the bottom of the jug. These do not detract from the beauty of this stunning piece of first period Worcester which also shows the hand painted open crescent to the base. As can be seen from the photographs there is some kiln dust in the glaze of the base. Measures 98mm high x 72mm diameter at the widest point.
