Victorian, circa 1870 Majolica begonia leaf high compote. Overlapping begonia leaves glazed in pink, green, brown and ochre glazes on brown stipple ground to the top. Three stilt marks to the top. Overlapping green begonia leaves to the foot. Green reverse. Ochre glaze inside the foot along with three stilt marks and a painted mark. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Small flake to rim. Slight wear to the top. Kiln effect: brown glaze run to the foot. Restored rim chip. 9.25ins diameter, 5.5ins high
