Victorian, circa 1870 Minton Majolica candlestick modeled as a putto sat on a column, with a vase forming the sconce which is resting on her shoulder. Floral headdress and loin cloth draped over shoulder and over one thigh. Decorated with striking ochre, cobalt, green, brown, cream and pink glazes. Green underside with impressed ''MINTONS'' maker''s mark. Good. Tiny flakes to toes of right foot. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to putto''s left thigh; shrinkage line to base edge. Repaired cracks to base. Repair to putto''s neck, left arm and vase. Restoration of her right thumb. Restored chip to her head and sconce. 10.5ins high
