A Chinese Export blue and white hot water plate, Danish market, c.1765. The hot water dish is beautifully decorated in a deep, rich tone of underglaze blue and white. ;The rim has a fluted edge and is densely decorated with four large cartouches, alternating between garden scenes to figures in a landscape and four lambrequin on a floral ground with a diaper band at the rim. The shaped central panel contains a river scene with a compound of houses to the foreground with figures by a boat and a pagoda on the opposite bank of the river. Diameter: 11 inch widest point.
