Victorian, circa 1880 English Majolica sardine box and cover decorated with dragonflies, butterflies and pond lilies on cobalt ground. Bird finial to top of cover. Mottled green and brown glazes to tray. Pink interior with three stilt marks to reverse of cover. Ochre underside with three stilt marks and painted ''86'' mark. Good. Dish: Slight wear to exterior. Kiln effects: stained crazing and some tiny glaze pops to interior; stained crazing to underside. Restored chip to under rim of tray. Cover: Kiln effects: stained crazing to underside; a few small glaze pops on top. Restored chip to bird''s left wing and another to flange. 8.5ins wide, 4ins high
