Rare dated pottery slipware money box, shaped as a bag with globular body and drawn-up folded neck, glazed in a yellow and green flecked lead glaze, decorated with inscribed flowering plants, a bird, and geometric patterns, the front beneath the slot inscribed Cecilia / May 5th / 1834.
References: ref. Colman-Smith - Excavations at Donyatt Pottery - p301 for a series of puzzle jugs excavated at the factory site with the same decorative motifs, dated 1833-34.
