An exquisite Louis XVI style master snuff box, the hinged cover a miniaturized hand-painted pastoral scene on porcelain, encircled by a gilt bronze rim, above a similar bronze base with lock, the sides decorated in raised, stylized acanthus leaves. Interior fitted with silk, unmarked, possibly Sevres. Note a fleck at bottom of portraiture, in the original firing. France, c.1840. 4.25" dia. X 1.50" H
