Punch and Judy with a child and frog, flow blue transferware dish made in Staffordshire, England, 19th century.Measures 1inch high and 4 1/2inches in diameter.Fabulous scene showing this warring couple of puppets. Judy, dressed in granny glasses and bed bonnet holds a baby - about as ugly as she is. Punch, with his harlequin cap and wand spouting smoke. In the foreground is a frog, also in a night cap, smoking a pipe. Definately looks the most intelligent of the group. Beautiful flowers and foliage in concentric circles around them, up to the rim.Marks: brown inked impressed mark says Staffordshire England.Condition is very good. There is some rim roughage, but I believe that is original to the piece. Status: For Sale Reference#: 2175 Condition: See Description Year: See Description
