Circa 1880 Chinese Export Rose Canton Oval Scalloped Serving Dish measuring over 8 1/2" in diameter and over 1 1/2" in height and depth. The difference between rose canton and rose medallion is that rose canton has no people in the scenes. This is a unusual shaped form that we have not seen that often. On the bottom of the piece is a sticker from a antique shop in Long Island, New York who had apparently sold this piece to a member of the family whom I had recently purchased their chinese export rose medallion.
