CIRCA 1840-1850 Chinese Export Rippled Edge Serving Piece measuring 11" X 8" In The Celadon Pattern. Quite unusual form that I don't recall having seen in any in any of the other chinese export patterns. Rose Medallion,Rose Mandarin, Blue Canton,1000 Butterfly,Rose Canton, cabbage leaf and a few others that I can not recall at this moment. Actuall this might be a footed fruit bowl as it does resemble a form that I have seen occasionally in rose medallion and rose mandarin. Good Condition with the excerption of rough edges on the rippled edge at the top. No Restoration. There is a china mark on the bottom that usually ages a piece or porcelain to 1890 but that china at the bottom was not done by the maker but probably done by a owner of this piece at one time. The footed bottom measures 6 7/8" X 5". The last two images show the roughness on the rippled edges that I had mentioned earlier. This does not detract from the beauty of this unusual piece.
