Circa 1790-1800 Quality 18th Century Chinese Export Blue Fitzhugh Armorial Shallow Soup Plates. These soup plates measure 9 7/8" in diameter and 1 1/2" in depth. This armorial soup plate is illustrated in David Howard's Reference Book, CHINESE ARMORIAL PORCELAIN, page 690. THIS IS THE Arms of Hill Dawe of Ditcheat House of Somerset. There were two book written and published by David Sanctuary Howard and they are the bible for tracing these beautiful coat of arms. We have several pieces from this service which range from Excellent Condition to pieces with chips, nicks and hairlines. The two forms that we presently have are these Shallow Soup Plates and Dinner Plates. In the last four images we are showing these Fitzhugh Armorial Plates displayed on a hanging Early 19th Century English Oak Shelf.The middle top four Fitzhugh Plates are the remaining Soup Plates, which are in very good condition. For those interested, the hanging shelf is 42" in height. 73" in width and 6" in depth.
