Circa 1720-1740 Chinese Export Armorial 9" Plate. Mamout Elephant. Sopra di Bianco. Made for the Indian Market. Very unusual market plate that we have not seen before. Fresh out of a New York Manhattan Estate filled with armorial plates. This item is 1 1/2" in depth and probably a shallow soup plate. The plate is in very good condition for it's age. The Mamout Elephant has very little wear considering it's age. Bright colors on rider on camel back. Some fritting on edges of plate and two minor nicks with one having a earlier repair. This plate is a excellent addition to advanced collector's collection. Extremely Rare.
