An unusual mustard ground is the backdrop for the lovely handpainted vignette panels in this beautifully detailed SATSUMA earthenware bowl. The corners of the bowl are canted, giving the bowl a foliate or flower shape and the exterior floral decorations are well painted creating a full exterior motif as striking as the interior floral rim and vignettes. The bowl displays beautifully and is special collectors piece. Dimensions: 8 1/2"(21.50cm) Width 3 3/4"(9.50cm) Height Condition: Excellent, no damage. The bowl dates to mid 19th century Meji period and is unsigned.
