Kashan Lustre Bowl - AMD.16, Origin: Central Asia, Circa: 1200 AD to 1300 AD, Dimensions: 2.50" (6.4cm), high x 6" (15.2cm) wide, Collection: Islamic Art, Style: Kashan, Medium: Fritware, Lustre, having been first used on glazed pottery in ninth century Iraq, became very popular between the tenth and twelfth centuries in Fatimid Egypt, and reached new heights in Seljuk Iran round about the thirteenth century, before the Mongol invasions.
