Victorian, circa 1870 Holdcroft Majolica strawberry server in the form of a rustic basket. Nest on either side forming sugar and cream bowls. Branch molded rim and handles above the nests. Brown interior ground to the basket with leaves and white flowers growing from the branch. Dark green reverse. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s mark ''J HOLDCROFT'' and painted ''12''. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No flakes. Slight wear to interior. Kiln effects: glaze miss to the foot; small shrinkage crack to one handle. Restored chip to one flower. 11.5ins by 11.75ins wide
