A Raspberry Ground Spode ;Porcelain Basket & Cover, Circa 1820. The pot pourri basket and cover or Bow-handles bucket has a loop handle with moulded flowers and picked out in colours and decorated in raised gilding with fantastic birds on raspberry ground. Height: 4 3/4 inches Mark: "Spode 3993" ; ; ; ; ;Reference: Leonard Whiter, "Spode", page 242, #243 for a jar decorated in same pattern; and colour plate VIII for shape called "Bow-handled bucket".
