Antique Gorham sterling silver lamp / candle stands with original silver plated lamp shades over fabric and glass shades. Made in the USA, 1913. Stand without shade measures 10 3/4 inches high. Hexagonal stepped base with elegant curve towards the neck. Removable part silver, part ivory-coloured material neck with place for candle. Original, red fabric shades held together partially with old brass tacks, with deep red glass beads hanging in a long fringe from the bottom. Over this is a wonderful openwork silver plated shade. Base is marked with earliest Gorham mark, a small clover indicating 1913, STERLING and A9040. The silver plated shade is also hallmarked with the Gorham anchor mark, GORHAM CO 0560.
