This is a fabulous pair of antique sconces with a fleur-de-lis design, dating from the 1920’s and retaining their original polychrome finish. Made and signed by Riddle Co., each sconce features a back plate bordered by acanthus leaves and crowned with a fleur-de-lis. A design of bellflowers, berries, and volutes, accented with red, blue, and green, runs down the center of the back plate. The sconce arms extend to either side near the top of the back plate, supporting bobeches with foliate detail. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 8†wide, 11 ¼†tall to the top of the candle covers, and have a projection of 3 ¾â€.
