This is a fabulous pair of antique pewter sconces, dating from the 1930’s. Each of the double-arm sconces features a beautifully cast back plate crowned with volutes and acanthus leaves, and draped with leaves and volutes down the sides. The base of the back plate, wreathed in foliate detail, features a square leaf accent in the center, from which the sconce arms extend to either side. Each arm, ornamented with leaves, ends in a squared foliate cluster and supports a cutout bobeche. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 9 ¾†wide, 10 ½†tall, and have a projection of 4â€.
