This is a fabulous pair of antique double-arm cast iron sconces, dating from the 1920’s, in a warm chocolate brown. The sconces feature a shield-shaped backplate with a rope border and acanthus leaves at the top and bottom. The top of the backplate is adorned with a crest, and a torsade-bordered patera with acanthus leaves surrounds the button on the backplate. Two wrought iron sconce arms extend from the bottom of the backplate, supporting foliate bobeches. Each sconce finishes in an acanthus finial at the bottom. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 15 3/8†tall, 10 ½†wide, and project 5†from the wall.
