This is a splendid pair of antique Tudor single-arm sconces with their original snuffer shades, dating from the 1920’s. The sconces feature a hammered backplate with a striking shape. The shade features a hammered volute loop at the top, and a crimped border below; the shade is supported by the sconce arm, which runs from the top of the sconce to the bottom, fastened with two hammered brackets to the backplate. The arm comes outward in an L shape to hold the bobeche, which has a waved edge and a spike finial underneath. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces measure 5 ½†wide, 13†tall, and have a projection of 6 ½â€. These would be a handsome addition to any Tudor, Spanish Revival, or Gothic décor.
