This is a magnificent pair of antique double-arm Georgian sconces with prisms, dating from the 1920’s and made of cast iron. Each sconce features a rectangular backplate ornamented with flowing leaf detail, showing Art Nouveau influence. The backplate has a rope border and is crowned with a bouquet of flowers, with delicate volute detail running down the sides of the backplate. The sconce arms extend from an anthemion at the base of the sconce, and are accented with a bead pattern. The bobeches are ornamented with a leaf design and hung with icicle prisms. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 14†tall, 10 ½†wide, and project 4 ¼†from the wall.
