This is a splendid antique Georgian double-arm sconce in gilded bronze, dating from the early 1900’s. This unusual three-light sconce has a light in the backplate behind a veil of intricate glass beadwork. The sconce is crowned with a gilded torch ornamented with anthemia and a rope border; below, the backplate is encircled by a gilded laurel wreath border. A gilded stem extends from either side of the backplate, hung with crystal spears. Faceted beads form the backplate, converging on a glass flower. The arm receiver bowl at the base of the sconce is ornamented with leaf detail, supporting two smooth, gold plated arms. Each arm holds an elegant bobeche hung with icicle prisms. This wall lamp is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconce measures 10†wide, 18†tall, and has a projection of 4 ½â€.
