This is an attractive pair of antique double-arm Neoclassical sconces, dating from the 1920’s, in their original silver plate over brass. Each sconce features a shield-shaped backplate crowned with an urn of flowers, with volutes and bellflower garlands below. A semicircular arm receiver bowl curves across the middle of the sconce, ornamented with acanthus leaves and a dangling tassel. A pair of smooth, silver plated arms extends from the arm receiver bowl, each supporting a gadrooned wax pan and a leaf-and-dart bobeche. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 11 1/8†tall, 9 ¾†wide, and project 6 ½†from the wall.
