Cast and signed 1939 Art Deco sconces that can be found in Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the "Carleton Series". Virden bragged in its description: “Underwriters Approvedâ€.
The finish is pewter, and the shades have the typical concentric rings so very iconic of the Streamline era.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally rewired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs was installed. The backplate has a rotary On/Off switch. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
