Circa 1930's, these sconces are finished in an oil rubbed bronze (near black) finish with brass highlights. They have an interesting opal shade with a clear waffle glass panel for that extra bit of light. An interesting thing about that waffle panel is that the shade does spin in it's fitter so the waffle panel can be turned sideways to focus more light on a face if the sconces were put to each side of a mirror. For that matter, the waffle can also be turned 180º to face the wall if it ever got to be annoying for some reason.
