A pair of antique single-arm sconces dating from the 1920’s. The sconces are signed by the Crescent Brass Manufacturing Company of Reading, PA, in business since 1904. These bronze sconces feature a shield backplate ornamented with an egg and dart border, drapery, acanthus leaves and a central flower surrounded by beading. Above the backplate each sconce is crowned by a seashell with beading and a gadrooned urn. Below, the fixture features more gadrooning, acanthus leaves, and a scrolling sconce arm that extend out to support a foliate bobeche. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces measure 4-1/2" wide, 11-7/8" tall and project 6" from the wall. Coordinating two-arm sconces (shown in the last picture) are listed under item # NSP649.
