This is a fantastic antique pendant light with an unusual globe, made by Macbeth Evans Glass Company. Designer H. H. Blau filed a patent for these “inclosing globe†lights in 1929 (you can see a copy of the patent at http://www.freepatentsonline.com/1778305.pdf), and the shade is signed with the patent number. According to the patent, this pendant was designed to have a similar look to inverted dome chandeliers, but is completely enclosed to keep it clean inside. The fixture features a shade with a clear top and a translucent, bowl-shaped lower portion, supported by a sleek shade holder and a rod attached to a canopy. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rim. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The pendant measures 16†wide and approx. 14†tall (body only) and 32†long overall. This item will ship in two boxes; please contact us for a shipping quote.
