Superb antique industrial lantern, dating from the 19th century. This may have originally been used as a ship's lantern. This bronze light fixture begins with an understated canopy, coming down in a chain to a handle loop finial. The body of the chandelier is circular in shape, with surrounding bars creating a cage effect. Inside the cage, there is a solid metal sheet encasing half of the fixture, creating a solid backdrop for the bulb. There is a parts number embossed on the base of the cage: 2099-L-4. This lantern is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The fixture is 5-3/4" wide, 11" tall, and is 24" long overall.
