Art Nouveau Style Lamp in style of Gustave Gurschner, Austria. There is a signature "Gustave Gurschner" on the base, but it is not an original. This one is an earlier enlarged copy with every detail of the original. They came out on a market sometime in 1940th and are the best copes so far.
The original was created by Austrian sculptor Gurschner 1897 and is described as following in his workbook:
GG-1897008: Electrical table-lamp „The Leaving“, bronze, brown patina, on black pickled wood base, egg-shaped white glass body, on the plinth signed with „GURSCHNER“, foundry label „K. K. KUNSTGIESSEREI WIEN“ (K. K. ART FOUNDRY VIENNA) , height of 60 cm, mod. no. 70 (1897).
This particular piece is beautifully executed! The group of bronzes represents three figures. A young man raises his new loving, while its „Leaving“ tries to keep itself desperately still on him.
It is 165 cm (65")high bronze figure, with a lamp screen. As floor-lamp the bronze is offered with a lamp screen Tiffany style 14" in diameter. Stain glass lamp screen. Base is 15" x 15".
